And, being located where it is, the Park Inn offers something no other Dubai hotel can boast…views of the city’s major motor racing circuit.
That means one side, including the lobby and some of the 146 guest rooms, faces out onto Dubai Autodrome.
Okay, so it’s no Yas Marina Circuit with a landmark grand prix fixture, but there’s usually some activity happening on the tarmac, including endurance races and Wednesday night cycling.
Anyway, back to their iftar offering...
The Park Inn has a fairly small restaurant called Live-Inn Room, but - in Head Chef Nasr Khaldoun – it clearly also has someone who knows his way around traditional and modern Arabic food.
On our visit, these included aisha khanoum– a seemingly simple Lebanese dish that musters some robust flavours.
And samak bil tahenh, which has a more subtle taste and appearance, while chicken jagin/tagine was given a vibrant, standout flavour with the inclusion of olives and dry fruits for complexity and a sweet and sour tilt.
These main dishes will rotate during the holy month, we’re told, but the juices – kmar el dain, jallab, karkadaihetc – will remain.
The all-important desserts include wardat al sham, creamy bundles of halwat el jibe and atayef assafiri.
All this is served in a venue that is bright and modern with nearby decorative references to location, namely racing wheels on walls and a racing car displayed upside down on the ceiling of the lobby.
The iftar selection is brief but not short on quality – which, reassuringly, means there should be little wastage.
And you’ll be hard-pressed to beat the price.
DETAILS:
IFTAR at Park Inn by Radisson, Turin Blvd Road, Motor City, happens from sunset until 9pm and costs AED89 per person.
IF you are staying at the hotel, facilities include a rooftop swimming pool with decent views, on-site health club and gym and 50 undercover parking spaces.
ADDTIONALLY, you’ll find the Live-Inn Room restaurant included in the current Dubai 2018 Entertainer app, namely 2-4-1 main course and buffet options. And the iftar is included as a ‘monthly offer’ 2-4-1 on both the Dubai Fine Dining and Dubai 2018 apps. So more reason to give it a try.
THE hotel also has some tie-in offers for IMG Worlds of Adventure and Arabian Ranches Golf Club.
