While Dubai World Trade Centre has provided a stage for many touring shows, the 17,000-capacity arena is a bespoke destination that will enable the city to plug into a global touring network of larger bands and shows that have maybe bypassed the UAE in the past because of seasonal timing.
Before then, the arena hosts its first act in the form of comedy star Russell Peters.
His ‘Deported World Tour’ kicked off in Australia and New Zealand in February 2018 and inaugurates the Dubai arena on June 6.
The show has already travelled to more than 29 cities in 20 countries and been witnessed by 100,000-plus fans worldwide.
The public will get the chance to see the stunning venue before all that, including behind the scenes, during tomorrow’s open day.
As the final touches are being made to the building, guided tours will take place every 30 minutes between 3.30pm and 6pm. During the walk-around, visitors will be able to see where artists will be performing and take a look backstage.
Although tours are free, you will need to RSVP via the venue Facebook page event@coccolaarena
