A cross between a catwalk for food, giant picnic and a feeding and refreshment frenzy, there’s no getting away from the fact that Taste is one of the social gatherings of the year in the city that likes to eat.
For foodies – and with so many restaurants and dining outlets it’s hard not to be – the three-day event is a chance to watch some culinary heroics unfold.
For many more, it’s simply a chance to check out some great grub, hear live music and generally have fun with friends in one of Dubai’s best-loved park spaces.

Gary Rhodes – the British chef who has been feeding UAE cinema audiences as well as visitors to his Dubai concessions – is among the star names cooking up wonders across the weekend.
He’s joined by fellow countryman Luke Thomas, the youthful brains behind Retro Feasts at JBR The Beach, and the infectious TV regular Aldo Zilli, among others.
And expect fresh regional and exotic cuisine from the likes of Mohammad Orfali, Reza Mohammad and Tarek Ibrahim.

FOOD THEATRE: Electrolux returns with one of the key attractions at Taste of Dubai, interaction with the celebrity chefs
Among the many familiar names making their presence felt is appliance giant Electrolux.
Continuing its partnership with Taste of Dubai, the company is bringing its new Make Life Delicious programme to the event.
This will enable visitors to unlock their cooking potential by cooking along with Electrolux’s partner-chefs, the idea being to learn new skills, hints and tips that will inspire them to become more creative in the kitchen.
Among the culinary talent on their roster is Masterchef winner Tim Anderson and Electrolux chef Paolo Pettenuzzo, Gohei Kishi (Ramusake), Fryderyk Zielinski (Aubaine), Daniel Ferreira (J&G Steakhouse), Jorge Rivero (The Gramercy) and Omar Omara (Fratelli La Bufala).
The Electrolux Chef’s Theatre is another returning popular feature, hosting live demonstrations from a selection of the world’s best chefs, including Michel Roux Jr, Jenny Morris and Eric Lanlard.

Music is always on the agenda during Taste and while soul veteran Billy Ocean headlines proceedings on opening night (on at 9.30), during the three days you can catch live shows on the Noor Entertainment Stage from The Boxtones, The Maplejacks, Juke Box (Cook Hall’s resident band at The Westin Al Habtoor City) among others, as well as DJs.
