At 25, Derulo is one of his genre’s biggest players, courtesy of big-sellers ‘Want To Want Me’, ‘Whatcha Say’ and the unstoppable ‘Talk Dirty’.
On stage he is often praised as a premier showman with the dance moves to back up the soulful vocals and chunky beats – all in spite of breaking his neck in 2012 while attempting a backflip.
Opening the show is Duabi-based Moroccan rapper and MC Two Tone.
The posh princess behind an ever-expanding crop of electronic-fired hits returns to the emirate to headline the Thursday night action.
She’s been hogging UAE airwaves with ballad ‘Love Me Like You Do’ this summer, but she’s likely to be getting the big room moving with ‘Burn’, ‘Anything Could Happen’ and breakthrough hit ‘Lights’.
Fans can also expect to hear new song ‘On My Mind’, debuted at the recent Apple Music Festival.
Providing the stadium touch to the arena stage on Friday night is Oscar-winning actor Jared Leto, fronting the epic Thirty Seconds To Mars.
The band he formed alongside elder brother Shannon back in 1998 make a long-awaited Dubai debut.
The star of films such as ‘Lord Of War’, ‘Fight Club’, ‘Urban Legend’ and ‘Requiem For A Dream’ leads a band that draws the kind of loyal support most of their contemporaries could only wish for.
This has, in part, been driven by such bombastic live favourites as ‘Up In The Air’ and ‘Closer To The Edge’ as well as Leto’s on-stage persona.
Either way, expect the DWTC air conditioning to be put to the test on Friday night.
