Starting at 11am, the day includes the chance to try yoga by the hotel pool, indulge in an all-vegan buffet for just AED99, listen to talks, see demonstrations, watch films related to veganism and buy vegan products – such as cheese, cakes and even subscription boxes featuring vegan-only products.
“Veganism is often misunderstood,” says co-organiser Will Rankin. “The food you can eat is only limited by your imagination. We are so happy that Rove is willing to demonstrate that with a little knowledge and passion, a beautiful, satisfying brunch can be created, without the need to reach for meat, dairy or eggs.
Co-organiser and lifelong vegan Ananda Shakespeare hopes to welcome everyone to the event, which is free to access and children are welcome.
“Whether it’s picking up advice on what to eat, or the deeper questions revolving around veganism as a lifestyle, we hope people will come along and have fun, and leave having learnt a little more about what it means to be vegan,” she adds.
