Fortunately, visitors to the UAE can now equip themselves to avoid costly vacation phone charges courtesy of local firm du.
The Tourist Plan is valid for 60 days from the time of activation. It comes with 500MB mobile data and 30 flexible minutes that can be used to call local or international mobile and landline numbers, for 75AED. All benefits are valid 10 days from the time of line activation.
“The UAE is a tourist hotspot and international business hub. At du, we want to simplify the lives of our visitors by offering them a service that will allow them to stay connected to their friends, family and business associates, with added convenience,” says Fahad Al Hassawi, Chief Commercial Officer at du.
“We also realise that many people who initially come here as tourists find employment and choose to make the UAE their home, which is why we have made it simple to renew their Tourist Plan or switch to du Pay As You Go.”
While the Tourist Plan is valid for 60 days, customers can extend the validity for another 90 days or migrate to Pay As You Go or a postpaid plan.
Of course, being an impartial site, we would also advise readers to check out what du’s rival operator Etisalat can offer incoming travellers, especially if they are arriving into the UAE through Abu Dhabi, or spending most of their time in the UAE capital.
