As The Laughter Factory chalks up another anniversary, it has a trio of comics ready to blow out some candles.
Hailed by many critics for his playful, provocative and bold, sometimes acerbic style - and once described by one simply as “the future of British comedy” - this lad has a lot to live up to.
Then he has the TV and live theatre accolades to flesh out the positive comments, stretching back 10 years.
Sporting what some cite as a firebrand style of comedy, Alfie has forged his material from years of pushing boundaries and experimentation, combined with natural stage presence.
Greg Morton is no stranger to moving with the times either, having first called upon his witty disposition to diffuse situations in schoolyard conflicts.
Going on to win first prize in the, ‘So You Think You’re Funny Contest’ a stand-up comedy career beckoned.
Having found his voice he went on to direct and voice more than 20 cartoons. His former mobile disc jockey days also inform his comedy routines - he’s served up song parodies on nationally syndicated radio shows and even opened concerts for Celine Dion and Luther Vandross.
Finally for June comes Fern Brady whose “fearless writing and lighting fast wit” have seen her pen the sitcom 'Radges' for the BBC3 Online Comedy Feeds and has perform on numerous TV shows, including Russell Howard’s Stand Up Central, Live from the Comedy Store, the Russell Howard Hour, Stewart Lee’s Alternative Comedy Experience and Viceland’s new series Brexit Stage Left.
Prior to embarking on her comedy jounrey, Fern was a journalist and has also spoken about topical issues on Radio’s 4’s The Today Programme.
