And that record-breaking live success is set to continue with an expected 14,000-capacity sell-out show at Dubai Media City Amphitheatre this autumn.
It follows a promise made by Barlow during his 2014 solo show to bring the veteran boy band back with him to the emirate.
Take That – arguably the UK’s most successful live pop act – have suffered no loss of form in spite of slimming down to a trio.
Quite the opposite, in fact, in that the arena tour that followed latest album III, has been hailed by many critics and fans as one of the ‘Back For Good’ outfit’s best live shows yet, even with Robbie Williams and Jason Orange absent from the line-up.
Fans who signed up for the Dubai show’s exclusive pre-sale received an email last week with details regarding ticket purchase. General ticket sales began today at 10am.
Hot ticket
“In my 15 years of promoting shows here in the UAE I have rarely seen such a demand for concert tickets,” says Ovesen.
“With an unprecedented number of pre-registered fans we expect the concert tickets to sell very fast.
“The demand for tickets from international and regional fans is exceptional and we expect a sell out crowd at Dubai Media City when Take That take to the stage to perform their first and only Middle East concert."
Take That have sold more than seven million gig tickets during a two-decade career that has spanned eight number one albums and 15 British number one singles.
The numerous hits include ‘Patience’, ‘Everything Changes’, ‘A Million Love Songs’, ‘Relight My Fire’, ‘Pray’ and the eurphoric ‘Greatest Day’.
The UAE date comes on the back of a UK tour that saw the threesome play 37 sold out shows in arenas at eight cities around the country, including an 11-date record-breaking run at London’s huge O2 Arena.
